Hyde is a Tameside town sitting at the eastern end of the M67 motorway, around 25 to 35 minutes from Salford via the M60 to junction 24 and then the M67 east. The M67 is a short motorway that was built specifically to provide motorway-standard access to Hyde and the Tameside area and it terminates close to the town at the junction with the A57. This terminus junction is one of the most frequent breakdown locations we attend in the Tameside area.

The M67 terminus junction where the motorway becomes the A57 is a point where vehicles suddenly transition from motorway speed to slower urban traffic. The A57 Hyde Road runs through the centre of Hyde connecting it to Manchester to the west and to the Peak District roads to the east. The town centre on Market Street and the Clarendon Square shopping area see regular car park and road callouts. The Tameside Civic Quarter includes the Tameside Council offices and several public buildings, and the roads around it are familiar to our drivers.

Godley on the eastern edge of Hyde sits alongside the A627 and the railway line heading towards Dinting and Hadfield. The industrial and business park areas around Godley generate commercial vehicle callouts. Flowery Field between Hyde and Gee Cross is a residential area with the A627 running through it, and Gee Cross to the south-east is a quieter residential village.
