Car Recovery Littleborough

Littleborough is a small Rochdale borough town at the northern edge of Greater Manchester, sitting in the Roch Valley where the A58 climbs towards the M62 Summit. We reach it in 35 to 45 minutes from Salford via the M62 eastbound, exiting at junction 21 and heading north on the A58. The M62 junction 21 area sits at the base of the long climb to the Summit and is itself a regular breakdown location.

The M62 Summit is the defining feature of recovery work near Littleborough. The M62 reaches its highest point of around 1,221 feet at the Summit cutting near the Stott Hall Farm. This section of the motorway is the highest motorway in England and is regularly affected by severe weather when lower sections are merely damp. The A58 Rochdale Road is the main route through Littleborough, connecting the town to Rochdale to the south-west and to Todmorden and Halifax to the north-east via the Pennines. Hollingworth Lake is a country park and reservoir on the edge of Littleborough that attracts visitors from across Greater Manchester. The car parks and access roads around the lake see callouts from flat batteries and tyre damage, particularly on busy summer weekends. We reach the lake car park via the A58 and the B6225 Rakewood Road.
