Why EV Recovery Works Differently

A petrol car with a flat battery can be jump-started and driven away. A depleted traction battery on an EV means the vehicle cannot move at all — there is no equivalent of a jump start for the main drive battery. The 12V auxiliary battery, which powers the onboard systems, can be jump-started, but this does not restore range to the main traction battery.
